Life On The Streets of Granada

Walking Granada's brightly painted streets (you can find them in this post), the colonial period wealth of this former capital city are clear.

Whilst redevelopment of the main drag points to a future shaped around sanitised tour-group travel and faux-Irish bars, wander down the market street and you'll find yourself in the chaotic nerve-centre of town. Watch and shoe repair men, pot-bellied ladies selling fruit and cakes, wily octogenarians who always give you the wrong change and more than a few dodgy looking characters. Each of them trying to earn a living one way or the other.

These are the people we saw.
