Verandah Resort
Why we like it | Set across a large and lush green site, Verandah Resort is one of the most popular options in Antigua - and for good reason. We were based here in a waterfront suite with private balcony, and adored the tranquility of sitting each morning gazing out over the Caribbean ocean.
It has two small private beaches with bar and food, each of which is perfect for relaxation or trying out some watersport acitivites, with SUP boards, kayaks, and small sail boats free for guests. The larger public Long Bay beach is a five-minute walk away. There is also a gym and tennis courts, whilst the resort is very family-friendly and arranges various day and night activities for guests.
The food across their several on-site restaurants is exceptional and varied - as evidenced by the amount of weight we put on in the week (we really should set ourselves a limit at buffets!).
Location | Outside the small village of Willikies on the eastern side of Antigua. Devil’s Bridge, a dramatic spot in Antigua, is a short walk away. The resort is 11.9 km from St John’s Airport.
You can find it here on Google Maps.
Price | Hillside Suites for two start from £326 / $415 per night, with Waterview and Waterfront Suites from £351 / $447. For more information, and to check prices and availability, click here.
Coco Bay resort
Why we like it | This adults only all inclusive resort is a perfect option for couples and honeymooners in Antigua (Andrew’s brother actually got married here!). Set over 10 acres, this intimate resort has wonderful private views of the blue Caribbean ocean and charmingly designed pastel coloured romantic cottages and suites.
Location | On the south-west of the island, Coco Bay is set on one of the most beautiful beaches on Antigua, with the airport a 45 minute drive away.
You can find it here on maps.
Price | A deluxe cottage for two starts at £496 / £632 per night, and a premium waterfront suite is £677 / $863 per night. Check availability or make a booking here.
If you’re a couple who prefer an all-inclusive resort with a more central location and lively atmosphere, then check out the Sandals Couples Only Resort and Spa.
Hawksbill Resort
Why we like it | We discovered the Hawksbill Resort whilst driving around Antigua in search of its best beaches - and we’re so glad we did.
This small adult-only all-inclusive is not as fancy or luxurious as the others featured in this article - with its simple cabins being a little aged (although some are being renovated) - but its price and location by the Old Sugar Mill and five stunning beaches make it the best option for those less concerned about certain features but instead looking for excellent value and an unbeatable location. It has a laid back vibe, low on organised activities for guests (which may be a positive for some of you!)
Location | On the north-west of the island, Hawksbill is one of the all-inclusive resorts closest to St John’s, the capital (although the resort itself feels a million miles away from the city!). It’s 11.6 kms from V.C. Bird International Airport - private airport transfers / shuttles to and from any resort in this list can easily be arranged in advance here.
You can find the hotel here on Google Maps.
Price | Private Bungalows for two people start at just £184 / $234 per night, making this one of the best budget friendly all-inclusive resorts in Antigua. Check availability and prices here.
An alternative beachside budget-friendly all-inclusive in Antigua is Halcyon Cove.
St. James's Club and villas Antigua
Why we like it | With two private beaches, several restaurants offering a variety of options for all diets, excellent facilities and activities for guests (including free watersports lessons and equipment), St James’s Club is one of the most family-friendly resorts in Antigua.
Location | On the south-east of the island on Mamora Bay, it’s only an 11 minute drive to the lively English Harbour and Nelson’s Dockyard.
You can find the hotel here on Google Maps.
Price | Ocean view rooms start at £347 / $442 per night for two people, with family rooms + cabins also available. Check prices and availability for your own Antigua holiday here.
Hermitage Bay All Inclusive
Why we like it | An intimate 5-star experience in Antigua is guaranteed Hermitage Bay. Set in a secluded bay, with its beautiful dark-wood cottages nestled into the lush hillside, its location will transport guests to their own personal paradise whether you stay for a few days or a couple of weeks.
Location | Hermitage Bay can be found on the west of the island, around 10 kilometres (30 minute drive) from St John’s. It is a 35 minute drive from the airport.
You can find it here on Google Maps.
Price | Hermitage Bay is one of the more expensive all inclusive resorts in Antigua, with prices starting at £983 / $1,253 per night for a couple - check availability here.
If you like the look of Hermitage Bay, but it doesn’t fit your vacation budget, then take a look at the all inclusive couples only Keyonna Beach, which has a similar aesthetic but is around half the price.
Galley Bay Resort & Spa
Why we like it | With its private white sand beach, crystal blue ocean views and excellent facilities - not to mention 40 acres of lush tropical gardens - Galley Bay can lay a sizeable claim to being one of the best located all inclusive resorts in Antigua. And with a lower age limit of 16 years, proves itself to be an excellent choice for a romantic couple’s getaway.
Location | In a secure and isolated site on the north-west of Antigua, but not too far from St John’s (approximately five kilometres) and the international airport.
You can find it here on Google Maps.
Price | A suite for a couple starts at £590 / $752 per night - check room options and availability here.
